How often do you hear “It took me 4 hours to prepare and cook and it was all over in 20 minutes ” Well, apart from the fact that there must be no socializing going on , it seems to me that eating 2-3 thousand calories in 20 minutes is a little fast.
One of the problems in our daily lives is that many of us rush through the day, with no time for anything … and when we have time to get a bite to eat, we gobble it down. Sound familiar?
It all leads to stressful unhealthy living
And with the simple but powerful act of eating slower, we can begin to reverse that lifestyle immediately. You take smaller bites, you chew each bite slower and longer, and you enjoy your meal longer.
It takes a few minutes extra each meal, and yet it can have powerful effects.
Why you should consider the simple act of eating slower
You will lose at least 20 pounds a year without doing or eating anything different as
it takes about 20 minutes for our brains to register that we’re full.
If we eat fast, the message doesn’t;t have time to get through top out stomachs and we continue eating past the point where we’re full.
If you’re looking to lose weight, eating slowly should be a part of your new lifestyle.
You will enjoy your food more It’s hard to enjoy your food you gobble it too quickly. Make your meals a real pleasure, not a thing you do rushed, between stressful events.
It will improve your digestion Digestion actually starts in the mouth, so the more work you do up there, the less you’ll have to do in your stomach. This can help lead to fewer digestive problems.
It can’t hurt you. Slow eating doesn’t have any negative effects on your health, but can bring you a number of benefits without extra costs.
It will help you take smaller helpings as the signal is getting through and you are full before you know it.
You will not have to do this for very long. It takes most people around two weeks, your food intake will have diminished tremendously, simply because your stomach gets smaller when you stop overloading it. Keep doing this for a few weeks if you need to, but I guarantee you will see results quickly.
You will feel better look better, made more time to socialize with friends and family
I am so proud that I stuck with it as I can honestly say I feel great!
Eating less and more than needed on alternate days prolongs life.
